Privacy and cookies
What data this site processes, which third parties are involved, what loads only after your consent, how long things are kept and what rights you have.
Who is responsible
FerryGoGo B.V., Jufferstraat 3, 3701 AD Zeist, Netherlands, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce under number 76706060, is the controller for personal data processed through dover-dunkirk.com. You can reach us at info@ferrygogo.com.
This site has no accounts, no newsletter, no contact form, no comments and no advertising networks.
What loads only after your consent
On your first visit you see a banner with the choice Accept or Reject. We keep your choice for 12 months in the cookie dd_consent. Until you choose, and if you reject, the two services below do not load and receive nothing, not even your IP address.
- Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited). Records in aggregate which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, approximate location at city level and device and browser data. Sets the cookies
_ga(2 years) and_ga_*(2 years). Google uses your IP address to derive the location and then discards it; we never see it. We use Google Consent Mode: without consent the site sends nothing to Google. - Stay22 LetMeAllez (Stay22 Inc., Canada). A script that adds our partner code to hotel links on the page. It includes the ThumbmarkJS library, which builds a browser fingerprint (a code derived from, among other things, screen size, fonts and graphics card), stores it in localStorage and sessionStorage under
_tmjs_land sends it to api.thumbmarkjs.com. This lets Stay22 recognise a booking as coming from this site. The script also loads its own helper services. If you reject, the hotel links still work, as plain links without the script.
You can change your choice at any time via the link Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; the banner then reopens.
What loads without consent
Some parts are needed for the page to work. They load as embedded frames (iframes) from another party, which sees your IP address and may set its own cookies inside that frame; its privacy policy applies to that.
- DirectFerries: the booking module on the homepage, the booking page and the prices page. Anything you enter there goes straight to DirectFerries, not to us.
- Windy (Windyty SE, Czech Republic): the weather maps on the weather page.
- OpenStreetMap (OpenStreetMap Foundation): the maps on the port pages.
The departure board with the sailings fetches its data through our own server; no data about you goes to DirectFerries or DFDS for that.
Server logs and email
Server logs. The site is hosted by Hostinger, which records the usual technical data for every request: IP address, browser type and the page requested. This serves security, abuse prevention and fault finding, on the basis of our legitimate interest in a safe and working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR / UK GDPR). Retention follows Hostinger’s policy; we keep no copy of our own.
Email. If you write to us, we keep your message and address for as long as it takes to deal with it and then for at most 24 months, so that we can come back to a correction. Email addresses go on no mailing list and are not shared.
Booking partners
If you follow a link to DirectFerries, DFDS, Booking.com or another party, you leave this site. From that moment their privacy policy applies, not ours. We receive no personal data about your booking; our partners tell us only that a booking was made through our link and what the fee is.

Your rights
Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure and restriction of processing, the right to object and the right to data portability. Consent given can always be withdrawn for the future. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority: in the Netherlands the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, in the UK the Information Commissioner’s Office. To exercise these rights, an email to info@ferrygogo.com is enough.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update the date at the top of this page.
